Madern International, better known as simply Madern, was founded by Mr J. Madern and started as a company for flat and relief engraving techniques. Very soon Madern became well known for its engraved nameplates, lay-outs of control panels and stamps for the local steel, soap and tin industry.
In 1985, the company was handed-over to Mr J.H.R. Madern and has grown since to one of the leading engraving companies, with a focus on specialist engraving techniques that other companies in the field of engraving could not tackle. High-end tools like die-cast moulds, injection moulds, embossing punches, tyre patterns and can stamps is only a brief overview of the many complicated products that were engineered and manufactured by Madern.
During the same period, Madern developed special skills for the engraving of rotary tools for various industries, such as pastry-and biscuit dies, rotary tools for labels and finally also rotary dies for the cardboard packaging industry.
Presently, Madern is the unrivalled specialist for rotary tools, such as cutting, punching, creasing and embossing for the cardboard packaging industry in general, with leading market shares in the tobacco- and liquid packaging. Thanks to the continious pressure, from existing customers of these industries, to develop also the equipment, in which the rotary tools could run, Madern offer a complete range of die-cutting machines, including fully automated stacking units.
An important mile stone in the history of the company was the construction of the new production facility in 1995, where presently the company's head office is established. With this ultra modern engraving and machining facility and its extension in 2001, the solid foundation was laid for the further growth of the company.
In 1999, Madern USA Inc. was established to serve the local North American market. With the opening of a brand new production facility in October 2006 in Apex NC, Madern confirm its commitment to the American continent to manufacture and serve all rotary tool requirements for the local cardboard packaging industry.
At the end of 2005, Madern acquired Arthur J. Evers Corporation and was re-named as Evers International LLC. Evers has been serving the liquid packaging industry for more than 4 decades and with this consolidation of know-how and experience the presence of Madern in the liquid packaging industry was completed.
The philosophy of Madern has been always and still is simple and straight forward: Innovation and Quality. Innovation to meet the continious challenges of the packaging industry in general and in particular from our existing world wide customers. Quality at all levels within the companies is the basis of the success of both our customers, as well as Madern. With our existing 200 engineering, manufacturing and service staff world wide we supply and support our customers with custom made solutions.
