For the rotary die-cutting tools, we distinguish two different types of cutting principles: Crush Cut (CC) and Madern Pressure (MP) Cut (Scissor Cut). Based on these two principles of cutting, Madern can supply complete solid or segmented tools or a combination of both.
All tools are manufactured of the highest quality PM steels and the life time of the tools can be increased by applying special "in-house" coatings. The choice of the cutting principle, the kind of steel and type of coating depends on the application, the required tool performances and characteristics of the cardboard. Special features, such as waste removal, punching and perforations can be integrated in the cutting tool.
Periphery equipment, such as in or outboard stripping units and bearing blocks or adaptation parts for the tools can be supplied according to machine specifications.
Madern cutting dies are widely used in the tobacco packaging industry for the production of HL cigarette boxes, display cartons and innerframes.
For the liquid packaging application millions of milk, juice and soft drink cartons (gable top and aseptic brick type) are manufactured with Madern cutting tools, as well as bottle and can carriers for the beverage packaging industry and frozen food, fast food and cereal packaging for the general folding carton industry.
Above industries have one thing in common: converting cost per carton has to be as low as possible, hence the life time of the cutting tool and the quality of cut, i.e. reduction of waste is essential. With the Madern cutting die solutions, you meet the best possible performances.
