Spark erosion technology is used to machine very complex shaped products or parts. The erosion technology used by Madern is based on zinc or wire spark machining.
Zinc spark machining is used for making complex cavities in die-cast moulds, blowing moulds, medals, embossing punches, as well as for removing broken bolts, taps or other parts in existing products.
Wire spark machining is the most suitable method for making through holes or other complex shapes, such as extrusion dies, grinding jigs, curved dies, gear wheels and turbine blades. Materials, such as aluminum, standard or hardened steel or even tungsten carbide can be machined without difficulty.
